Boundary County Translator District

Regular Meeting—Board of Directors

 

January 8, 2008

Chairman Greg Garrison called the regular meeting of the Boundary County Translator District Board of Directors to order at 10:00a.m. 

 

1.     Roll Call Present:

a.       Board Members:

Barry Coleman - Excused         Michael Listman

Carl Hendricks

 

Also Present:

Mike Ladely                             Sharon Comer

 

2.     Minutes of Previous Meeting

Mike Listman moved the minutes be approved as presented. Carl Hendricks seconded, motion carried.

 

3.     Treasurer’s Report

The Board reviewed the treasurer’s report; Mike Listman moved to accept the treasurer’s report as presented, Carl Hendricks seconded, motion carried.

 

4.     Old Business:

a.       Converter Box (Radio Shack) – As of Jan 1rst, people can go to the government web site and request a coupon for $40 with a limit of two per household.  Radio Shack will be carrying the boxes in about two months at a cost of $69.99.

b.      Spokane Public Radio (KPBX) – Mike Ladely has turned off 92.1 (KMBI) because of interference.  The FCC should not have renewed this license and KMBI will need to move to a different frequency to continue broadcasting.    

 

5.     Maintenance Report                                                                       

a.       Mike Ladely reported that John Barnett does not wish to apply for licenses on behalf of the district. 

b.      Grants are available to assist with the costs of converting from analog to digital.  Mike Ladely and Greg Garrison are working on this to submit an application.  More information is needed to complete the paperwork.

   

6.     New Business:

a.       None. 

 

 

 

 

7.     Tax Waiver Applications:

a.       John Moss – home is past Hemlock’s towards the Montana border.  Katka range blocks reception.  Carl Hendricks motioned to approve tax waiver application from John Moss, Mike Listman seconded, motion carried. 

 

8.     Emergency Response Committee Report:

a.       None.

 

   10.  Adjournment:

Carl Hendricks moved and Mike Listman seconded, the meeting adjourn, motion carried.
